Bodywork, aka “lazy person's yoga”

Rooted in traditional Thai bodywork, this work combines pressure, assisted movement and stretching to work along the body's sen lines, energetic pathways that run throughout the body.

You stay fully clothed while Rich works with your body on a comfortable floor mat, helping create space in areas that feel tight, restricted or overworked. Think of it as having someone do the yoga for you.

You leave feeling more open, grounded and refreshed, like your body has had a chance to reset.

Your body does a lot.
Give it some help.

  • Training hard.
  • Sitting too long.
  • Carrying stress.
  • Feeling tight.
  • Coming back from injury.
  • Simply needing a reset.

You don't need to be an athlete. You just need a body.

Where it comes from

Passed down since the time of the Buddha, lazy person's yoga is the practice of setting the body on the floor and smoothing out the sen lines (energetic rivers) of the body.

Looking through the hands and feeling for energetic blockages, the practitioner releases tension, freeing the energetic flow of the sen lines. You will feel as if someone has just done the yoga for you, leaving you refreshed and renewed.

“I've gotten massages before, but never like this.”

“Today I experienced Rich's ‘lazy man's yoga,’ also known as Thai bodywork. I've gotten massages before, but never like this. I didn't want it to end! He loosened muscles I didn't even know existed, caring for every part from my toes to my solar plexus. Leaving Chi Yoga Shack, my body felt divine, my mind relaxed, and my soul lifted.”

About Rich

“I happened upon yoga while in the Judo program at Northeastern Illinois University, pursuing linguistics and physical education. Yoga slowly brought me to places of awakenings, what was right in my life and what was not so right. Once I submitted to a daily practice I could see who I always wanted to be.”

Rich completed two teacher trainings along with many immersions and workshops at Yogaview, studied Hatha Yoga with Mahayogi Gokulacandra das (Jani Jaatinen), and practices Ashtanga under the guidance of David Garrigues. He co-founded Chi Yoga Shack with Nora in 2016.
