Breathwork and pranayama in ChicagoA clear, supportive introduction to breath regulation.

Restorative Breathwork introduces pranayama, the yogic practice of breath regulation, in a clear and supportive way. In the West it's often just called breathwork. It can help reduce stress, regulate the nervous system and improve respiratory function.

What to expect

Each month follows a consistent sequence and theme, so you build familiarity and confidence with the techniques week by week. It's especially welcoming for beginners, and no experience is needed.

Ashley LaMontagne found her way to pranayama and meditation during her own recovery from breast cancer, and has since completed over 300 hours of teacher training. Omkar Nath, who trained at the Akhanda Yoga Institute in Rishikesh, also leads the class. On Mondays it follows Hatha Yoga and Meditation as the Breathe & Be Evening Retreat.
